Documentary - “Cheques, Lies and Videotape”
I wasn’t initially planning to include this in #ThePilgrimage but it was irresistible. A glance back at an era that holds such nostalgia for people. The time, the culture, the kinship. When scarcity was part of the attraction!
We're delighted to announce that #ThePilgrimage Semillon 2018 has been awarded 5-stars for the second year in a row, by #Platters2021.
Congratulations to our wine-making team on these outstanding results!

About to watch the final B&W episode of Who.
I binged 4 eps on the trot yesterday, which is something I haven't done so far during #ThePilgrimage...
I bloody love 'The War Games', ALTHOUGH I was mightily disappointed when I was younger that this scene wasn't in the story. 😢
#TombOfTheCybermen on #DoctorWho #ThePilgrimage. I love it! Feel of flash US Sci-Fi of the time. But, oh, its problematic. Horrid sexism, 'foreign' villains, and the 2nd strong/silent/slavish black man in as many stories. Victoria has promising moments. Hope she's developed well.
@Al_Fleming_26 I've got Space Pirates lined up to watch next week as part of #ThePilgrimage, and I'm weirdly excited, since I remember nothing about it whatsoever.
Even though I've listened to the soundtrack a couple of times, and probably watched the recon/ surviving ep 2 or 3 times!)
'The Krotons' is the latest story to have gone up in my estimations during #ThePilgrimage (from 4/10 to about a 7).
There are some BRILLIANT ideas, and DoctorGond & ZoGond are 👌💯
The geography in it always confused me when I was younger, probably due to the dodgy model work.
ZOE: Now, press the button. Press the button!
DOCTOR: All right, there's no need to shout! Now go away and don't fuss me. No, come back. What's this? It's all right, I know.
Don't think I've laughed this much at Who since that Monoid gave its plan away to Dodo.
#DoctorWho #ThePilgrimage: #EvilOfTheDaleks starts well, then 5 eps of spreading a plot very thinly. Playground storytelling. But enjoyed the melodrama (intended or not). The Doctor's desire to look after Victoria is touching. Jamie best companion since Barbara.
Lots to unpack on #ThePilgrimage after #TheFacelessOnes. #1 ep very adult, terrifying cliffhanger. Thrilled by the airport setting and bodysnatcher vibe. However... that denouement is a bit limp. Is there ever enough steam for more than 4 eps? And B&P's exit unaffecting...
#TheMacraTerror is disappointing. Creepy start, lovely idea. But clunkily handled and ever so dull. Would have been a smashing two-parter. PT firmly at the wheel. Jamie outshining B&P. Loved the music, though. #DoctorWho #ThePilgrimage continues to fascinate me.
Missing soaking in the music vibes at The Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival this year. Fingers crossed for 2021. 🤟🎸@pilgrimagefestival

#TheMoonbase on #ThePilgrimage. Atmospheric and nifty. Nice to see the Cybermen back (preferred original design). PT now in control. Some good stuff for Polly, challenging tropes (and the Doctor), then sadly reverts to type. #DoctorWho seems to be slicker, but I miss the heart.
#TheHighlanders is jolly fun. Nice to see The Doctor with a handle on things, 'comedy' disguises aside. Warmed to B&P, though P's attitude to Kirsty early on is a bit rich. On that, surely Kirsty had more companion mettle. Jamie tagging along is random. #DoctorWho #ThePilgrimage
'The Abominable Snowmen' is the story that's gone up most in my estimation during #ThePilgrimage.
The scenes of the Abbot talking to Padmasambhava are deathly dull in recon form, but were probably very creepy.
And the make-up/wide-eyed performance when he does appear! [shivers]
This new fella's intriguing... # #ThePilgrimage reaches #ThePowerOfTheDaleks. Sleek and shiny. Plot stretched, but constant feel of impending menace makes up for that. Music and sound brilliant. Ep6 is brutal! And the last shot, superb. #DoctorWho all grown up.
